This is a fish I’m extremely proud of. 10.9kg Mangrove Snapper from 32m, on a reelgun. 21/09/26 🦍 Water was choppy with big swell and very murky. From the surface I had spotted a school of batfish near where the 35m dropoff should be. I planned my dive to go near this school as they are very curious and provide good cover to get closer to the reef fish below. I could make out bohar snapper, midnights and even a Māori. What a Honeymoon 😂👏🏼 Out Spearfishing with @ph1l1p_mart1n, water was very very dirty and I remember making a joke about it being Marlin water. First drift in, doing some warm up dives in roughly 18-20m of water. Managed a small jobbie and decided to call the boat to move to a different spot.
