Here’s a controversial one - it’s well known that poaching and an insatiable thirst for ivory decimated the African elephant population. However, the population is now being carefully managed and conservation efforts receive a tremendous amount of funding by offering the chance to cull pre-selected individual elephants (too old, too dangerous, etc) for a very high price. Note that the meat from these hunts do not go to waste, primarily going to local residents. Share your take on this practice, we want to hear it.…
