“Halibut is the most resilient fish I’ve ever speared. This one had two spears in its head, and was probably bled for 15+ minutes before we tried to get it in the boat. The only thing that makes them stop is cutting the spine which is impossible while it’s still in the water. It’s absolutely fascinating how much they can withstand. A friend of mine speared a 70kilo one in that head and the line snapped. It was speared again 1,5 years later completely fine with the shaft still in its head. The project this winter…
