Prescribed fire is one of the best habitat tools a landowner has, but plenty of people never use it because they are smart enough to respect it. That is where a Prescribed Burn Association can make a real difference.

A Prescribed Burn Association is a local group of landowners and citizens who help each other conduct safe prescribed burns. Members share manpower, equipment, knowledge, and experience so private landowners are not trying to figure out fire alone on burn day.

Used correctly, prescribed fire can improve wildlife habitat, restore native plant communities, knock back invasive species, reduce fuel loads, lower wildfire intensity, improve grazing systems, and even help with ticks. This is practical conservation.
